- Looking for a good DJ? Your wedding won't be flowing until the music turns up, and lights are where they're supposed to be. Most DJ's nowadays control the lighting as well, so you don't have to run around looking for light fixtures! If you got good taste in music, this shouldn't be a difficult task. It's always a good idea to put a playlist together, too. It will help both you and the DJ, and get your guests out of their seats to boogie down. Or, you can leave it up to the guests to request songs, and dance the night away. Just like any other vendor, search for that special connection with a DJ. It's always important that they are reliable, and are able to carry their own equipment. They play a strong role by spinning those tracks, so make sure it's always appropriate for the right moment. Go DJ, go DJ, go!

- I love our Farmer's Market in Folsom on Fridays. (say that fast 5 times!) They have such a wide variety of vendors. Last year I fell in the love with the "cheese lady" and Gringo Salsa. This year, Susan, owner of the Pasta Queen, comes with fresh pasta and sauces. Over Father's Day, as I had gone to Nevada to visit family, I made sure to place a special order for myself and my sister. The Portobella Mushroom Ravioli is to DIE for, and the Arrabbiata was so delicious!
If you get a chance, you should check out the Pasta Queen. And be sure to check out her new logo!

- We really do! We worked with Michelle Cormack at A Girl Named Fred on several marketing pieces that we are so thrilled with the results. Now we have cute MJ cards to send out to our clients and industry friends. We have always been big on the hand-written card and now we've taken it to the next level. Now the cards we send out are The Memory Journalists cards with our fun colors and our logo. We also had some beautiful Memory Journalists coffee mugs made and have been sending them out to our brides each season.
A Girl Named Fred is a fabulous design and communication firm that can help companies with all their marketing needs including assisting with the right message you want to relay in your materials. We are working on another piece with Michelle that we can't wait to share with you so stay tuned.

- Right next to Sweet Cakes by Rebecca, I found America's Party Rental. They were using one of Rebecca's cake in their table display at the recent Dream Wedding show. They're "booth" looked so awesome!

- The table linen was amazing! The lighting in these shows isn't always the best to showcase these table-scapes, but I hope you can see how the blue shows through the white patterned flowers in the linen. And hello...my favorite flowers!

- This purple arrangement with hints of white against the dark black was another great color combo. It's so much fun to see what people can put together and how they tie the theme into the decor. The folks at America's Party Rental do this amazingly well! Everything was ultra pretty!

- Here's another example of how chargers and your flatware can add some additional charm to your table.

- Shelton's Wedding Cake Designs is another of my favorites. Judy was found manning their booth at the recent Dream Wedding Show. They always bring so many wonderful wedding cake designs to showcase!

- Check out these beauties!

- They can make anything from traditional style cakes...

- ...to those cake designs where the color is incorporated right into the fondant...there is technical term for this that Judy told me, but for the life of me I can't remember what it's called now.

- She had just finished her new snowflake design and it was amazing! It glittered! It would be perfect for a Winter wedding.
