  • We met with Christy and Jason tonight for their engagement photo shoot. Jason is a total comedian and I loved it! He kept us entertained while we shared some appetizers. We were surprised that the clouds were out when we left the restaurant to start our engagement photo session. But the light was perfect. We drove around the Negro bar area and stopped at several locations along the way to snap some photos. Here are a few images from tonight that are some of my favorites.engagement photosengagement photographer

  • Tonight we celebrated Teresa's 30th birthday. It was a "Drinks and Dessert" party and Teresa's closest friends put on the best shindig I've ever seen. Turquoise, gold, and chocolate brown were the theme colors and everything matched perfectly down to the linens and ribbons. We were greeted with balloons before we even went inside.Birthday Photos 1The doorman was the cutest little dog holding personalized Hershey's mini bars. Amber and Lisa were busy putting on all the little details when I arrived.Birthday Photos 2Birthday Photos 3A close family friend and professional baker made the moistest chocolate cake. The girls created a chocolate covered marsh mellow tree and the most awesome pretzels - covered in chocolate and turquoise frosting and sprinkles.Birthday Photos 3Birthday Photos 4birthday Photos 5There were cookies, cheesecake, brownies, and lemon bars. And the cupcakes....oh my gosh - I'd never seen turquoise cherries before! Teresa made the most decadent, scrumptious, yummy dessert I've ever had - sweaty balls - chocolate covered oreo and cream cheese balls. Apparently when they are set out at room temperature they sweat, and hence their name.Birthday Photos 6Birthday Photos 7And finally, the drink of the evening was a mini- martini that matched the theme colors down to the colorful sprinkles in the top and bottom of the glass. They were amazing!Birthday Photos 8birthday Photos 9I couldn't resist snapping this pose of Teresa as she enjoyed her evening! Happy Birthday!Birthday Photos 10

  • Teresa joined The Memory Journalists just a few months ago. Together with Tina, we've been doing "Share and Tell" sessions at least once every two weeks. We get together, Cory cooks us dinner, we open a bottle of wine and we talk shop. Teresa and Tina are going through what I'm calling Jennifer's Crash course in MJ style. It's important to me that all the photographers I hire as second shooters maintain the same quality and style that clients of The Memory Journalists have come to love and expect. Tonight I'm sharing with you some of their awesome photos.
Memory Journalists Photographers 1These first photos are ones that Teresa captured during a portrait shoot for Raychel. This was a totally fun shoot - at a skate park! And Raychel is a natural in front of the camera. Teresa shot as primary on this photo shoot and these beautiful images are the result.Memory Journalists Photographers 2Memory Journalists Photographers 3Memory Journalists Photographers 4Memory Journalists Photographers 5Tina has been working with The Memory Journalists since last year and this year she's shooting up a storm. Tina also has the talent of being an expert with MAC products and lent both skills to Rose in preparation of a special event.Memory Journalists Photographers 6Memory Journalists Photographers 7And finally these are images Tina took of Tyrone Wells at his recent concert. The first is Tyrone and the following are Jason, Mark, and Aaron. It helps to know the band to be able to get on stage to take these close-ups and angles! Tina was laying on the floor and against walls to get these great images. As photographers, we're willing to get in all sorts of odd positions for that one great shot!Memory Journalists Photographers 8Memory Journalists Photographers 9Memory Journalists Photographers 10Memory Journalists Photographers 11

  • Nicole is due June 7, 2007 with a little baby boy.... Jack. Of course, I couldn't resist taking my camera today! And I'm so glad I did. :-) The baby's room turned out beautiful all done up in greens and blues.baby shower photos 1baby shower photos 2There's a reading corner and, as a surprise to Nicole, we all brought our favorite childhood books to start their library.baby shower photos 3baby shower photos 4We played the "memory" game - where you're shown a bunch of items for 30 seconds and have to then write them down from memory. I only half played since I was taking photos.baby shower photos 5baby shower photos 6The second game was a bit more - hmmm- how to describe?! GROSS! There were 10 diapers with melted munched up different chocolate candies. And the goal was to identify each one...whatver it took - smell - taste. YUK!baby shower photos 7baby shower photos 8Max, their family dog, was super charged up with so many visitors in the house. Matt and Nicole had made a t-shirt for Maxy which read "I'm the Big Brother!" Isn't that so cute! Oh and those are Nik's pink fluffy slippers.baby shower photos 9baby shower photos 10
Of course we spent time opening gifts and the best I think was the "Chick Magnet" bib that looked great on Matt. But I think Matt liked the new born size Giants ball cap.
baby shower photos 11The cake was chocolate with mint ice cream. The little booties on top were so tiny.
baby shower photos 12There will soon to be one more addition to the Beaulieu family and we can't wait! Enjoy more baby shower photos at The Memory Journalists main website. Under the Clients section type the word "Jack".baby shower photos 13

  • Today is Nicole's baby shower and I bought her a gift (I won't say what it is yet in case she reads this) that is hexagonal in shape. I'm hoping to get some great photos at the shower. My best friend Kerry would be so proud of my wrapping. Kerry is the best wrapper I've ever met and makes everything look professional. I think I did darn well by wrapping this shape and it actually still looks like a hexagon! I added one of my favorite childhood books for her soon to be children's library - Brown Bear Brown Bear. And don't you think Eli the Elephant was a nice touch?Baby Shower Photosbaby shower photographer
