  • I asked Isabel, our newest addition to the Memory Journalists team, to tell us a bit more about herself and to share some fun facts. Isabel will be leading up our Company coverage wedding collections this year. Drum roll....

Hi there, I'm Isabel Ollinger!! I married my best friend Justin in 2007. We have a beautiful little 2 1/2 year daughter that has inspired and continues to inspire my creativity and photography. I hope that some day she will see that I followed my dreams and that anything is possible. I am a hopeless romantic. I adore sweet moments. I love capturing raw emotion. It seriously makes me so happy to see it right before my eyes. For some reason I believe I am a part of what makes it happen. I am super easy going and kind of a goof ball. I love to laugh and dance. I really enjoy talking to strangers. I used to be a bartender for a few years and it was one of my favorite jobs ever, besides being a photographer of course. I believe my energy is a part of what makes my style of photography so personal, emotional and fun.

  • Little things about be you might or might not want to know:

I used to Bartend back in my early twenties, which is probably why I enjoy talking to strangers.

I really love to enjoy a glass or two of wine every now and again. That paired with a good book and I am in heaven.

I love to hug, so if I ever meet you I will hug you.

I love finding awesome, easy recipes on pinterest!! Its an addiction really.

I love my sweet chihuahua Bruiser, which of course is named after Elle Woods furry friend from Legally Blonde. I was a bit obsessed with the movie.

  • My first job was at Mcdonalds at the age of 15. "Would you like fries with that?"

I love, love, love my kid!!! She amazes me everyday with what she knows. She is such a sweet little muffin and a perfect combination of my husband and I. We are beyond blessed to be her parents.

I love a good peanut butter and jelly sandwich, who doesn't?

Currently I am trying to get our family on a more organic eating path. No more preservatives! Having a child has really changed a lot about how I view life. And the life I want for her.

I love being outside. Its just so good for my soul. For everyone's really?

At the age of seventeen I participated in the Miss Colusa County Pageant. I received the honor of Miss Congeniality. I was pretty stoked about it back in the day, still makes me smile.

I was a mascot my first year of college. A black panther with an attitude!

I adore my husband. He is my rock.

I love being in good company. I live for my family and friends.

I love re-purposing furniture, clothes and anything really. I love my visions, even more so when I watch them come to life.

I grow up in a bilingual household. Spanish and English, I dont remember which one I learned first. My parents spoke Spanish and my three older brothers spoke English. Lets just say I could speak both languages fairly clearly by the age of 5.

I am one of 5 siblings, second to the youngest.

I cheered for 6 years, 4 in high school, and 2 in college.

I am a sucker for French fries!!! I LOVE THEM!! I know not healthy, but every one has their weaknesses.

I love waking up on weekends to the sweet sound of rain outside. There is just something so relaxing about it.

The first time I stepped on a beach was when I was 17 on a school trip to visit colleges.

I am still very close to the girls I was friends with throughout my childhood. They are family to me.

I love to smile. Even though I have a squinty one.

I am always looking for a solution. I am the eternal optimist.

  • We share space with The Find and 2Chic Events and Design (both Aimee's companies) and Kim of Bloomers Floral Design. It's an old brick building with almost 2000 square feet. It showcases The Find's furniture rentals, as well as creates for wonderful vignettes for photo shoots.

  • Family Photography

  • We ventured back to where we took engagement photos for Darleen and David to the Davis Arboretum. I was very happy with this photo being in full sun-light - playing around a bit with my hubby's singh ray variable ND filter.

  • Family Photography

  • It was tough for me to pick just a few favorites for the blog. This is my most favorite! Such attitude.

  • Family Photography

  • And you all know I love close-up shots!

  • Family Photography

  • Dominic is walking...a bit wobbly cause he wants to run...and he got so excited that we were letting him walk everywhere!

  • Family Photography

  • I love this photo because you can see how proud mom and dad are with their big smiles.

  • Family Photography

  • As you can see mom and dad both were so serious when Dominic just wanted to run and laugh. He crashed once or twice...but no major damage.

  • Family Photography

  • Towards the end of our session, David had introduced Dominic to "sticks" and he did not want to let go. So we have a "ta da" pose here with his stick.

  • Family Photography

  • This photo was a bit tough to get...as Dom wanted to toss the paper photo and only wanted his stick...but we got it! It's a photo of his ultrasound! I LOVE it! Dad of course added the very debonair flower in his pocket. Watch out girls!
