  • I'm in the middle of creating a fun new project with Phil Sheffield, from Sheffield Multimedia. On our engagement session with Kate an Eric, we had Phil film the engagement shoot. Kate and Eric were so much fun that night and I can't wait to see our finished film. It will be so cool for sure! I borrowed these two images from Phil's blog to show you a few images he took that night. Check out his work at his website - http://www.sheffieldmultimedia.com/.Memory Journalists team Memory Journalists team

  • We met Kelli and Kevin tonight for some engagement photos as they took a break from studying for "finals" week. I think it was a fun and relaxing few hours away from the books. We took them to our secret hide away place in Granite Bay. This first engagement photo was actually one of our last ones taken. I told Kevin and Kelli to lean against each other, and I just love the laugh on Kelli's face as Kevin tried to off balance her by suddenly moving.engagement photos 1This shot of the heart was literally the shape some foam took at the base of a waterfall. Is that not super cool?engagement photos 2And of course, we can't pass up the hands in the pockets engagement photo. Kelli and Kevin are getting married in July.engagement photos 3

  • We had such a fun time yesterday photographing Marti and Brad's wedding! Marti and Brad exchanged vows in Old Sacramento on board the Delta King. I hope this doesn't come out wrong, but since Marti and Brad aren't 19 years old, their wedding was more about who they are individually. What was important to them was making their wedding about family and friends.Delta King Wedding Photos 1Delta King Wedding Photos 2Brad graduated from USC and as a tradition among college friends, they make a custom football helmet in true tradition colors. Go Trojans! The guys gave their football blessing and stood prominently for their pose.Delta King Wedding Photos 3Delta King Wedding Photos 4Delta King Wedding photos 5The girls had their own huddle of sorts and in turn, struck their own pose. Ooh Baby!Delta King Wedding Photos 6
Delta King Wedding Photos 7The celebration began upon the words "Mr. and Mrs. Brad Hills!"Delta King Wedding Photos 8This is Marti's dad. He is super funny. He asked me if I knew what Marti did for a living. Of course, I answered that Marti is a pharmacist. He laughingly said, "I raised my daughter well, and what happens? - she ends up in drugs!" I laughed out loud.
Delta King Wedding Photos 9We headed into Old Sac just as the sun was setting as snapped this shot at the old train depot.
Delta King Wedding Photos 10Marti and Brad flew in a traditional Norwegian cake from Minnesota. It's called a Kransekake cake. The baker was Swedish but Marti said she forgave him. :-)Delta King Wedding Photos 11Our Master of Ceremony and DJ was Sonny from Exquisite Entertainment who introduced Reed. Reed started off the toasts by telling us of the story how Marti and Brad met. Salutes were in order for their friend Dayna who hooked them up! Marti's sister Janet was next - while she admitted to me she was nervous - she had us rolling in our seats. She laughingly told us how she and her sister Karen were rather fond of Marti so Brad better be good to her.Delta King Wedding Photos 12Delta King Wedding Photos 13Delta King Wedding Photos 14Delta King Wedding Photos 13At the end of the night we snuck (is that a word?) out for a shot by the paddle wheel. And of course couldn't resist the night sky against the Tower Bridge with it's reflection in the water. Congratulations Marti and Brad!Delta King Wedding Photos 14Delta King Wedding Photos 15

  • It's official - we just got the word - The Memory Journalists has won the contest cover for the next issue of the Sacramento Bride and Groom magazine! We love photographing weddings and to win a wedding magazine cover context is quite a coup! We are super excited. Congrats go out to our own Teresa Vasquez for shooting this winning cover photo from a wedding she photographed with me. We also placed as one of five runner-ups. Congrats also go out to my fav guy - my husband Cory! I won't (can't) post the winning wedding photos right now, but check back in about a month when the new issue comes out.

  • I am loving pet photography. I can see pet photos become another favorite subject of mine. Pets are so cute. It is not hard to capture that cuteness in photos.

ZoeZoe likes to crawl into our dry cleaning bag. Well she likes to crawl into any box or bag we leave out. I grabbed this pet photo this morning. She's just too cute!pet photography
