I'm an abnormality or is it an anomaly? Either way, I'm kind of strange. I am blessed to be both left and right brained - an odd combo of creativity and analytical thinking....I call it anally creative! Growing up I sang, danced, took photography classes, entered drawing competitions, read as many books as I could, and wrote poems and short stories. But I also loved math and science! Well rounded? or just small town girl looking for things to do! In college, I studied Computer Science and Mathematics, but my lov... read more

  • Roll your eyes...

    and laugh.

That's what I used to do when I saw other people using a selfie stick. It looks ridiculous right? Not until you actually try it and experience it on your own, don't be so quick to knock it out just yet. Millions of people travel everyday, and I'm sure many of you have been asked to be a "photographer" at some point, and have also asked strangers and passers to take your photo, too.

With the vast popularity of selfie sticks, you don't have to worry about that anymore. It comes with great pros and you can travel freely without bothering anyone to take your photo. And being a photographer, sometimes you don't want to lug around your big camera and 5 extra lenses. If you prefer less baggage and versatility when capturing photos, all you need is a selfie stick, and your smart phone.

See how people have used the selfie stick while traveling.

  • Selfie Sticks can be your ultimate travel tool.

  • Isn't this a cool group shot? Getting ready to sail off somewhere, and you're able to snap a quick one with the selfie stick. It would be much more complex trying to use your arms, and the photo wouldn't look as wide with a nice background. You can also attach the "fish-eye lense" gadget to get these type of shots.

  • Selfie Sticks can be your ultimate travel tool.

  • Traveling SOLO allows you to express freely, and what better way to document it than on the beach, or anywhere for that matter. It's not about being narcissistic, but making this a moment you will remember. You get to enjoy it, and look back on where you've gone, and what you've seen. Not a lot of people get to do this.

  • Selfie Sticks can be your ultimate travel tool.

  • Backpacking and strolling new city streets with some friends is an unforgettable experience, too. You can't ask a stranger to take photos for you all day long, so, take it into your own hands with the selfie stick. Plus, you can capture restaurant and food, or architectural buildings in many ways. Wherever there is a good scene, it's only a click away.

  • Selfie Sticks can be your ultimate travel tool.

  • It's time to utilize this cool travel tool to make your experiences so much more special. Don't mind the uncanny looks or laughs from people-they don't know what they're missing!

  • Say hello to the infamous selfie stick! You may see a lot of these around, but how do you take a killer selfie with it? Of course, the main purpose is to get all the right angles, and you can finally brush up on your selfie taking skills! Here are the 3 Ways to Take a Killer Selfie:

    1. Wide Group Selfies - Hooray to no more cropped images of friends, family, or co-workers. When taking a family trip, business trip, or just a day trip with your friends, we tend to ask a complete stranger to take photos for us. You want to include everyone in your photo, and maybe a little background, too, but sometimes things get cropped out because of your reach. An easier solution: the selfie stick! It's so easy to just pop your phone on and off, and capture these treasured moments. So, for your next group photo, have the selfie stick ready!

  • 2. 45 Degree Angle Selfies - Okay, maybe you never have taken this type of selfie before, but do have that one friend that does. She takes selfies from a 45 degree angle where she extends her arm out, and holds the camera phone 45 degrees above your face/head. Even a lot of models use this because it captures the perfect angle of their faces. Well, executing these shots have never been easier, and I don't know about you, but I have short arms, and the selfie stick allows me to extend as far as 7 1/4 inches up to 32 1/2 inches-fully extended. If the stick shows up in the photo at certain angles, you can easily crop, or photoshop it as well.

  • 3. Overhead (Lay Down) Selfies - Most of us have done this at one point, and it quite never works unless you're doing a close-up shot. With the selfie stick, you can extend up, and quickly snap. They'll come out much more flawless than usual. Also, keep in mind to find the right angle when taking these, too. It's not just the selfie stick itself, but you controlling each shot!

  • We are living in the selfie era, and no matter where you go, or what you do, a selfie is a must! Some of you may hate the whole idea of selfies in general, I know my hubby gets tired of me taking them! But as soon as I pulled out this cool little gadget, he took it over and played with it. Now we carry our selfie stick in the car for when we are out and about and want to take our photo together. It's a much more positive experience when I'm not chasing him down to get his photo.

This seems to be the case for any camera shy person. I have a mom friend who tells me that she can never get her kids to smile for photos, let alone sit still long enough to even be in the photo. I told her about our selfie stick and showed her how to use it. She took it home and again, much like my husband, her kids were enamored with this "new toy". She gets plenty of photos now!

  • We are living in the selfie era, and no matter where you go, or what you do, selfie sticks are the answer to your prayers when it comes to taking photos.

  • It has become a common way of taking photos in Europe (they even have corner street vendors selling them) and it is picking up here in the States quite fast. Sometimes your arms just can't reach overhead to get a good group shot, and the selfie stick does the deed. Once the stick is out, your friends will be amazed with this cool device. I'm pretty sure they'll want one, too. I remember showing a few of my photographer friends, and they laughed at it of course, but once they pressed that button, they were hooked.

So, you see why selfie sticks are the answer to your prayers? They are addicting to even the most camera shy kids, men, and friends. Imagine baby crying beforehand, and look at how still he will hold for you when he sees the selfie stick. It's now just more than just taking a photo. It's taking a photo with a gadget in hand. No matter how ridiculous you look, everyone just basically laughs it off. Why not? It's a global phenomenon that has become molded with this generation. Young or old, anyone can learn how to use one.

Here's How To Save Memories of Your Kids:

1.Let the Kids Take Over: Kids enjoy these cool gadgets, and if you let them take control, they are more likely to take photos with you instead of running away. Well, they might run away at some point to take their own photos, too. I know some of my friends with teenagers that go wild for these things, but wouldn't that be a change of pace? It's nice to know they enjoy time with you, and you're not totally boring.

It's exceptional for outdoor sports like track, in which you can capture these amazing angles and back shots when your kid is preparing to run!
